After about a billion years, I finally have a little Valentine's update.

Our Valentine's Day was awesome. There were plenty of heart shaped balloons, an obscene amount of red and pink treats, and silly red glasses shaped like lips.

Sometimes when I'm in the middle of making a bunch of cupcakes and I get frustrated because they're not turning out, I wonder why I try to make a big deal of holidays.

I've come to the conclusion that life can be pretty monotonous and boring most of the time. So why not take every chance to have some fun and step away from the hard things in life?

Back in middle school, I would wear a tiny little St. Patrick's Day hat on my head to celebrate (even though that's probably the most pointless of all the holidays), among other things.

So I've decided that going overboard with holidays is my thing. And I hope I still have this trait years from now when I have kids and grandkids. I think they'll appreciate it. :)

P.S. I'm totally already planning cakes and things for Easter! Holla!
