Memorial Day Weekend

Our weekend in Utah was bliss. I got to see the snow-capped mountains I miss, enjoyed some rain, ans so much more. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:

 

It was so great to see my little sister graduate high school this week! I got pretty emotional during the whole thing. Memories of my senior year made me want to go back to my amazing high school with my silly friends, supportive teachers, and black, gold, and maroon school colors.

It's crazy to think that just 3 years ago I was there, graduating. I don't feel like I've accomplished a lot since then, ha ha. I'd better get on that. :)

Also, my sister is a model. And we got the biggest snow cones they had, since apparently Las Vegas doesn't believe in snow cones. Ridiculous!

Oh and don't worry, we visited family in the cemeteries, I just forgot to snap some pictures.

My schedule has been super busy these past few weeks. I just finished up a semester at school, helped out with a family wedding, and now this weekend we're off to visit family.

A Spring Wedding

Last Friday was my sister-in-law, Sarah's wedding day. It was so beautiful and went off without a hitch (other than the chocolate fountain, but we won't get into that).

The only stressful part to me was making a few (see: a billion) cake pops. But once they were done, it was time to relax and make sure we all enjoyed this lovely day!

I'm so so happy for you, Sarah and Alex! You two are perfect for each other and deserve all the good that life has to offer.

Oh, weddings. So great!

Flashback

Today I though I'd do a little blast from the past. This is a silly little thing I wrote on my old blog. I'm pretty proud of it. I thought I was pretty hilarious at the time, which just makes it even more funny now. Enjoy it in all its 2009 glory:



So... I think I'm going to resurrect my blog. I know: big committment. But I'm going off to college! New school, new house, new blog! It makes perfect sense! Plus, I'm not much of a writer, so hopefully this will help me improve a bit. Woot and sauce!

Guess what? I bought a little frog! I named him Serverus Albus (I switched it on purpose, you Harry Potter nerd), naturally, and have been super excited for our lives together ever since!

Isn't he presh?

There are 2 downsides to this purchase:
A.) Cleaning Serverus' water is like waking up with the dirty toe of a stranger in your mouth. 'Tis utterly grotesque, to say the least.
B.) He sings mating calls to me. Yes, I'm sure. I Googled it! And they're not just funny little chirps that can be dismissed with a laugh every week or so. I am lucky enough to have serenades playing for me everytime I enter the kitchen.

Also, my mom tried to make me move the amphibian to my room. Scandalous! Slash- I don't think so. Oh Serverus.

End of a Semester

Hi friends! I caught a bit of a bug this past week and have been pretty consumed by it. I've had a really bad sore throat that has been hurting basically every time I swallow. But I did go to the doctor today to find out if I had strep or anything, and it turns out it's just a virus that I need to push through.

It has been a pretty hectic week full of finals, this sore throat, and my sister-in-law's wedding next week to help plan, but the good news is things are looking up!

As the semester is coming to a close, I've been reflecting on the things I've learned, especially in my photography class. Even though the teacher didn't always have good things to say about my pictures, I've loved every bit of it.

And I thought I'd show you a few favorites from the semester (some of which you may have already seen):

Yeah, I take a lot of pictures of flowers :) I just don't know very many people in Vegas who want their pictures taken! So if you're ever in Vegas, let me know. Or if I'm visiting Utah and I can take pictures of you, let me know, also!

An Afternoon Stroll

On our day off this week, we decided to grab our water bottles and take a little stroll around the block and up to the temple. Did I ever mention that I live less than a mile to the Las Vegas temple? Sweet, huh?

I took some pictures for my photography class, we enjoyed the fresh air, sat in the cool shade for a time, and I even got my first sunburn. Hooray!

And we had a little treat when we got home. We have to enjoy this last month of nice weather before it starts getting unbearably hot :).
