"Frying pans. Who knew, right?"
Way to go, Disney! GREAT 50th animated movie!
We got several Crock Pots for our wedding. So, we had to choose one and return the rest.
I wanted the red one (that's kinda the theme I'm going for in the kitchen), but Scott insisted on the biggest one. That's right- the 6 quarter (or something like that).
Haha, it's not exactly meant to cook for 2, but hey! It'll last us a while and will be handy when the kiddies come. And Scott's into being economic like that.
So last week we finally tested it out with a yummy chicken recipe that I'll share below. Btw, it was dee-lish. The chicken fell apart and we could hardly fork it! Dinner was magnificent!
However. Cleaning the Beast (good nickname, yes?)? Ohmynightmare.
We are fortunate enough to have to hand wash all of our dishes and I don't think I'd put a Crock Pot in the dishwasher anyway.
I guess that's how my Monday's going :)
Zesty Creamy Crock Pot Chicken
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 env. Zesty Italian dressing mix
1/3 c. water (I did a little more)
4 to 5 uncooked chicken breasts
Combine water and dry salad dressing mix and pour over chicken. Cook on LOW in crock pot for 3 hours. Mix soup and cream cheese together; pour over chicken and cook for another hour longer until sauce is smooth and creamy. Serve over rice or pasta.
My recommendation: mix the cream cheese and soup in a pot on the stove and make it creamy there first. I still had cream cheese chunks when I made it.
Happy cooking {and cleaning}!
P.S. Happy 3 month anniversary to us!!
I used Poladroid for the pictures, had the photobooth strips leftover from a wedding expo, and hung them with clothespins! I like it. And I almost, kinda, sorta made it up!
When you think things are bad,
when you feel sour and blue,
when you start to get mad…
you should do what I do!
Just tell yourself, Duckie,
you’re really quite lucky!
Some people are much more…
oh, ever so much more…
oh, muchly much-much more
unlucky than you!
