Tonight I was out shopping with my sisters and we found an awesome soda shop. They had a huge variety of cool looking soda bottles (If you're in Salt Lake, check out Rocket Fizz at the Gateway). So, we picked out a few of our favorites and I took some pictures right after the sun went down (hence the graininess because of high ISO).
Aren't they so fun?
The Huckleberry was voted the favorite, with the Orange Cream as a close second.
Yeah, I know it's been foreverz since I've posted and since this festival even happened. But it's a tradition that we go to the Tulip Festival each year! So I had to share.
This time around we took our friends Wade and Kira for their first time. So fun!
Every time I mention this festival in conversation with people at work and other places, they always mention how expensive it is. And yeah, it's like $15 a ticket. But the gardens are so pretty! I love going and dreaming about having a garden in my future home one day. And it's amazingly fun to take pictures of. So basically, I don't care about you silly people who think it's expensive and are going to be grouchy about it. I love it.
Summer is here! Hooray! Even though we'll still be working and won't be vacationing like everyone else, I'm still so happy that it's summertime.
I borrowed a huuuuge, beautiful 85mm L series lens this weekend. And whoa. It gave me the most beautiful images! If only it wasn't $2200 to purchase...
So I explored around our front yard and then we wandered over to a pretty field by our house. I can definitely see some future photo shoots there.
And can we just talk about that last picture for a second? I think it's the prettiest view to come up the hill to our house. With the mountains in the background and all the surrounding trees... so perfect. Especially when everything is so in bloom!
Life has been passing by so quickly these days. That's one of the downsides of working full time. I'm at a store for most of my day, so I really have to make an effort to appreciate the moments at home.
Here are some photos from recent events!
^^We had a lovely Valentine's Day (complete with tickets to a live taping of Studio C! Go watch a few videos if you haven't seen them. They're hilarious!)
^^We escaped for a weekend to visit our family in Vegas! There was a baby blessing and a baptism, so it was a wonderful, family-filled trip! We even squeezed in a little hike at the gorgeous Valley of Fire.
^^ I had the honor of photographing my uncle's wedding! They're a beautiful couple and it was such a sweet event. And wowza, that Draper temple is a beauty!
Sometimes I hate working a job all the time when there are so many other things I'd like to do. But this is what I need to do so we can afford important things like food. :) I'm trying to look at the bright side of things. Because life is full of good things; you just need to look for them.
A few weeks ago we pre-purchased tickets to go see the spectacular ice castles in Midway, UT. We were planning on going during the week because we've heard the weekends are INSANE.
But every week night we either were exhausted from work, had laundry to do, or something else came up and we kept putting it off. Well tonight we finally made the drive to Midway and I'm so glad we did!
It was such a fun date night to walk through the castles and explore. And then of course, we had to stop at one of our favorite local restaurants, Dairy Keen. Their fries are my favorite in all of Utah. Yep. And don't even get me started on the Nutella shakes.
What a blast! And yep, we were definitely thinking of Frozen the entire time. I guess at one point they even had Olaf, the snowman in the castles, but by the time we got there he "died".
If you gone yet, you simply must before they melt! It's such a beautiful sight to see.
