How We Wore It: Keepin' It Casual

Aaaaand she's back! Yep, I'm "fashion blogging" again. Don't hate. It's fun.

As I sit here trying to start writing a blog post, I just laugh. Because it's really hilarious that I ever decided to start a blog in the first place. Writing really isn't my strong point.

And yet, here we are.

Here's the original outfit via Robin Vilate

And my take:

Overalls: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Nordstrom

It's a good thing someone named this post "Keepin' It Casual", because that's exactly what I did. I essentially did the same outfit, but swapped out the jeans for overalls.

Overalls are my favorite. A small pain when you have to go to the bathroom, yes. But worth it.

And just a shoutout to all the other ladies in this collab: you are awesome and cute and wonderful! I've been the worst at commenting. But I really look at each of your posts! This time around, I'm going to make an effort to comment about your pretty faces and outfits. Promise!

How We Wore It: Summer Pleats

Hey everyone! How's life? Seriously, comment below. I want to hear from you!

My life's pretty good. I really can't complain. I'm not a big fan of working lately, but hey. It pays the bills while Scotty finishes school. And that's the goal right now.

Look what it's time for! Another round of How We Wore It!

Here's the original outfit, via Memorandum:

And now, a bunch of pictures of me. "White people, am I right?" (Have you seen Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? If you haven't, get on Netflix and DO IT NOW)

Here's the most important thing you can take away from this blog post: THIS is the comfiest, flowiest shirt I've ever owned. And no, this is in no way sponsored (LOL).

Also. Have you seen Tomorrowland yet? We just saw it last night and I loved it! I've heard a lot of negative reviews, but I seriously thought it was great. It inspired me. But maybe I was just really excited to be sitting in the awesome luxury seats at the movie theater and only had to pay 5 bucks!

Fellow Utahns, if you're not aware already, you can go see a movie in the awesome IMAX theaters and luxury, reclining seats for only $5 on Tuesdays! Yeah. It's the best. But of course, they sell out fast, so you've gotta be quick.

Any other Utah deals that I'm unaware of? Holla at me!

And then check out all of the other pretty ladies doing the fashion challenge with me!

April Florals

Look at me! 2 blog posts in one week! I'm on fire! Ha. We'll see how well I can keep it up.

I'm so excited to be joining Brooke and a bunch of other lovely ladies for another How We Wore It post!

Here's the original outfit, via Little Miss Fearless :
And my take:

I'd like to call this one: "I'm Still Not A Fashion Blogger" or "What On Earth Am I Supposed To Do With My Hands?"

Flower crown headband: American Eagle

Top: Forever 21 via my little sister
Sweater: Madewell
Pants: Gap
Shoes: American Eagle

Floral crowns are one of those trendy things that I still love even if they're starting to go out of style. I'm loving floral everything lately! Another trendy thing I still love: striped paper straws. They're adorable! How could you not?!

Also, I'm pretty proud to say that I figured out how to do self-timer photography with a tripod today! I had to kind of figure it out in the half hour before I left for work because no one could take my picture. It was fun! But as you probably can tell, I have a lot to learn.

I really wish I could have incorporated some of that gorgeous green from the original picture! So pretty. But sadly I didn't have any of it in my closet. :(

Check out the rest of the fabulous ladies involved in How We Wore It this week!

Zion and Bryce National Parks!

Hello, old blog! It's certainly been a while. Life has been nothing short of crazy. But I think I want to get back into all of this fun blogging business.

So let's talk about a fun trip we recently took! We don't do this often (full time jobs are the worst), and it was a short weekend trip. But it was so fun. Especially because we went with our good friends Kira and Wade!

And in typical Kaycie fashion, there are a bajillion pictures.

IMG_2520-editedIMG_2539-edited IMG_2557-edited IMG_2580-editedIMG_2597-edited IMG_2610-edited IMG_2632-edited IMG_2671-edited IMG_2726-edited IMG_2739-edited IMG_2754-edited IMG_2861-edited IMG_2874-edited IMG_2879-edited IMG_2899-edited

Bryce Canyon was gorgeous. And just seeing it from the lookout isn't enough. Going into the canyons and hiking in the hoodoos was incredible.

When we drove over to Zion National Park... WOW. I'd been there before, but in the winter. Coming in the spring when everything is blooming and green and perfect made us wish we'd skipped Bryce altogether! But I'm still glad we went to both.

We hiked the trail to Angel's Landing and almost did the last .5 mile of craziness. But it was insanely windy that day and there were so, so many people. So it was way scarier than it already is. We really want to come back and do it though! Hopefully on a day when it's not windy and we can leave first thing in the morning to beat the crowds.

National Parks are kind of our favorite thing now. We have 2 more to go in Utah, and then I'd love to start traveling out of state for more!

How I Wore It

Holy cow it's been a while since I've blogged! I'm back for an awesome post, though. My amazing friend, Brooke invited me to participate in a fashion collaboration! I was so ecstatic when I got that email!

I'm certainly no fashion blogger, but I do enjoy a good outfit.

AND, I'm excited to show you my new haircut! It was time for a change, and I love it!

So, first, here is our inspiration outfit, via Suburban Faux-Pas:

And my version:

In true procrastinator form, I didn't take these pictures until this morning! I know. I'm crazy. And my poor husband.

This last week I got my first ever roll of film developed! Okay, that's if we decide not to count the first which didn't turn out because I loaded it in backwards. *embarrassed emoji*

I'm in love with how the pictures turned out! They're by no means perfect. And I still need to get the hang of several things, like manual focusing. But I'm in love.

Film is so pretty! I love the blur, the depth, and the grain that comes with film. I also love not knowing immediately how the image turned out. The waiting is half the fun.
