Madi's 20th Birthday!

IMG_5139edit IMG_5138edit IMG_5147edit IMG_5143edit IMG_5134edit

My little sister's birthday was this weekend!

And I had so much fun decorating for the day. I accidentally used the same colors that I used last year for her birthday party, but oh well! It wasn't exactly the same.

I just have to say: sprinkle cakes forever. I didn't have to worry about the perfection of the icing, because I smushed sprinkles all over it! And look how awesome it looks!

And can we talk about those incredible balloons?! They were a little pricey at $9 a piece, but they were so worth it. The things are HUGE and added such a fun flair to the party!

Anyway, I love this girl. She is sweet, a peacemaker, and can always make me laugh. Happy 20th, Madi! Love you so much!

(Photos edited using A Beautiful Mess Lightroom actions! I love these! I use Lightroom more than photoshop, so the $10 mini-pack of actions was so perfect for me.)

Life, man.

Life has been passing by so quickly these days. That's one of the downsides of working full time. I'm at a store for most of my day, so I really have to make an effort to appreciate the moments at home.

Here are some photos from recent events!

^^We had a lovely Valentine's Day (complete with tickets to a live taping of Studio C! Go watch a few videos if you haven't seen them. They're hilarious!)

^^We escaped for a weekend to visit our family in Vegas! There was a baby blessing and a baptism, so it was a wonderful, family-filled trip! We even squeezed in a little hike at the gorgeous Valley of Fire.

^^ I had the honor of photographing my uncle's wedding! They're a beautiful couple and it was such a sweet event. And wowza, that Draper temple is a beauty!

Sometimes I hate working a job all the time when there are so many other things I'd like to do. But this is what I need to do so we can afford important things like food. :) I'm trying to look at the bright side of things. Because life is full of good things; you just need to look for them.

Midway Ice Castles

A few weeks ago we pre-purchased tickets to go see the spectacular ice castles in Midway, UT. We were planning on going during the week because we've heard the weekends are INSANE.

But every week night we either were exhausted from work, had laundry to do, or something else came up and we kept putting it off. Well tonight we finally made the drive to Midway and I'm so glad we did!

It was such a fun date night to walk through the castles and explore. And then of course, we had to stop at one of our favorite local restaurants, Dairy Keen. Their fries are my favorite in all of Utah. Yep. And don't even get me started on the Nutella shakes.

What a blast! And yep, we were definitely thinking of Frozen the entire time. I guess at one point they even had Olaf, the snowman in the castles, but by the time we got there he "died".

If you gone yet, you simply must before they melt! It's such a beautiful sight to see.

Acme Camera Company

I can't believe it's taken me this long to blog about one of my favorite camera companies!

Acme Camera Company is an awesome company based in Salt Lake City that rents out all things camera! You can rent high-end cameras, lenses, and even some vintage cameras and film for really affordable prices.

Isn't their logo so well-designed? I love it.

I've rented a little bit of everything from them, but this is the first thing I remembered to take pictures of. Mostly because it's such a cool camera.

The Contax 645 almost looks like it's straight out of the 80's because it's so huge. Heck, it might even be from the 80's. I don't know a ton about it. :) But it's the worth the bulkiness!

I googled the images taken with the Contax 645 and holy cow, they're beautiful. I'm not sure mine will even turn out because this was my very first time shooting film. But if they do, I know they'll be gorgeous, thanks to this beautiful camera! Next time I hope to save up for some ($30 a roll) color film.

I'm so glad I jumped on one of their weekly deals (which you can find on their Facebook page). This was such a fun activity to beat those winter blues.

Waffle Love

I was browsing through some pictures tonight and found these photos from forever ago that I never posted!

Most of you reading this probably live in Utah County, so you've most likely heard of the Waffle Love truck. They make the most amazing liege waffles, with your choice of topping, like fruit, nutella, and biscoff.

Oh my heavens. I'm seriously obsessed with these waffles. I never liked waffles until this truck happened. And then, I became obsessed

I don't think you understand. This last week, I went there 3 times in one week

Anyway, if you haven't been, get yourself on Instagram or Facebook to follow their truck schedule. They also just opened up a store in Provo, which is equally as awesome!

A quick, long-overdue, Christmas Re-cap

IMG_2834edit IMG_2848edit IMG_2825edit IMG_2830edit IMG_2861edit IMG_2873edit IMG_2896edit  IMG_2941edit

Our Christmas went a little bit differently than we had planned. We had gotten a few days off to visit family in Vegas, but unfortunately got into a little car accident a few days before we had to leave. It was a major bummer. And mostly because of the $1000 repair cost.

But we counted our blessings and managed to have a really great holiday. There were Christmas jammies, snow globes, traditional honey candy making, and a few presents. :)

Hope your holiday was spent with loved ones, and remembering our Savior and his glorious birth.

3 Years

IMG_3740edit IMG_2654edit

3 years (and a few days) ago, I married this handsome man. The first picture is from our engagement photos. We were BABIES. We've changed so so much; I can hardly believe it.

Happy Anniversary to us!
